ISLAMABAD: Residents of Sindh province have reached the federal capital Islamabad to protest against the cutting of Karonjhar mountain in Tharparkar.
According to details, Dilip Doshi, Abbas Khoso and others from Tharparkar demanded to declare Karonjhar mountain as national heritage. Talking to MM News, the protesters said that the deforestation of Karonjhar mountain was having a very bad effect on the environment.
They said deforestation was affecting wildlife, birds and humans. Clean drinking water will run out.
Residents of Karonjhar protested against the deforestation, saying that the deforestation was affecting the mineral deposits of the area as the colors of the mountain are becoming fade which is said to be the beauty of Sindh’s desert district.
“Exploration of precious stones from Karonjhar fading the beauty of Thar,” the protestors were quoted as saying.
The people demanded that the Sindh government and the federal government should immediately stop the deforestation of the mountain which is a symbol of historical heritage and culture of Sindh. The lease should be canceled.
Dilip Doshi has been raising voice for Karonjhar. He says that the holy places of our Hindus are also located in the area where they worship.
It is feared that these places will also disappear. We will not allow the Karonjhar mountain to be cut down under any circumstances.
