Terrorists launched an attack on the Police Training Center within the jurisdiction of Shorkot Police Station in Dera Ismail Khan, causing the area to reverberate with powerful explosions and heavy gunfire on Friday.
According to initial reports, the blast was so intense that its sound was heard from miles away, spreading panic and fear among residents.
Following the attack, security forces and police contingents rushed to the scene, and a fierce exchange of fire between the attackers and law enforcement is currently ongoing.
Additional police reinforcements have been called in to counter the assault, while Pakistan Army troops have also joined the operation.
The District Police Officer (DPO) Sahibzada Sajjad, DSP City Adnan Khan, and SHO Saddar are present at the site, overseeing the situation.
Heavy contingents of security forces and Al-Buraq units have entered the Police Training Center to neutralize the terrorists and secure the facility.
