TORONTO: Pakistani immigrant Ayesha Khurram was granted a loan of $6,386 by pop-star Taylor Swift for her education.
Ayesha Khurram told the media that she posted about the financial crises she was facing. She was advised by her friend to drop her PayPal aswell on the social website.
She added that she did what her friend advised her to do and later she received a donation which was enough to cover her loan.
According to Ayesha, she got a notification about an online money transfer by the Taylor Nation, LLC which showed a total of $6,386.47 had been sent to her with a note from Swift saying, “Ayesha, get your learning go on, girl! I love you, Taylor!”
Ayesha was overwhelmed with the feeling, “It was a special moment, (I) can’t put it into words. It was insane. I could not believe it.”
Ayesha is a student of accounting and financial management at the University of Waterloo. Recent cuts to Ontario’s student loan program affected her financial stability.
