Actress Tamannaah Bhatia shared that she would love to portray the legendary Sridevi on screen, describing her as “super iconic.”
According to Indian media, when asked if she would ever play a style icon, Tamannaah, who recently became a muse for the fashion label Bloni at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, named the late actress, who tragically passed away in 2018 due to accidental drowning.
“It would be Sridevi, ma’am. I think she was super iconic, and she’s someone I always admired,” Tamannaah told IANS.
Sridevi, known for breaking stereotypes, showcased her versatility by portraying a wide range of roles across genres, from comedy to drama. Revered as the “first female superstar” of Indian cinema, Sridevi had a career that spanned over 50 years, working in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada films.
Some of Sridevi’s most memorable films include Mr. India, Sadma, Himmatwala, Khuda Gawah, Laadla, Judaai, and English Vinglish. Her final movie, Mom (2017), a crime thriller, featured her as a vigilante seeking to avenge her stepdaughter after a brutal assault at a party.
As for Tamannaah, she was last seen in the heist thriller Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, directed by Neeraj Pandey, starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Avinash Tiwary, and others. She will next appear in the Telugu supernatural thriller Odela 2, directed by Ashok Teja and written by Sampath Nandi.
The film, which stars Tamannaah, Hebah Patel, and Vasishta N. Simha, is a sequel to Odela Railway Station, based on real incidents from Odela village in Telangana.
