A suspected robber was lynched in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Saturday afternoon, according to police and rescue services.
Sharea Faisal SHO, Faisal Gul Khawaja, said that three robbers attempted to break into a house in Block-15. However, family members managed to overpower one of the suspects at the entrance while the other two fled the scene.
The family subjected the captured suspect to a severe beating, which led to his death on the spot. The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
On Saturday, a man was shot dead during a mugging attempt at Five Star Chowrangi in Karachi.
The victim, identified as Salman, was returning home with his friend Bilal from North Nazimabad Block L when the robbers confronted them. Salman resisted, prompting the robbers to open fire. He died on the spot from his injuries.
Salman, a resident of Liaquatabad No. 1, was a father of four and worked as a caterer.
