Stern action against black marketing of life-saving drugs announced

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has announced that health ministry would take stern action against elements involved in overcharging or black marketing of life-saving drugs used by COVID-19 patients.
Talking to a private news channel, Mirza said that the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has been instructed to make sure the availability of medicines used for the management of COVID-19 patients.
The minister said that the public has been encouraged to inform DRAP on its toll-free number 0800-03727 in case they have been over-charged for the injections.
Responding a question related to Eid-ul Azha’s and cattle markets’ standard operating procedures (SOPs), he said that the federal ministers and religious scholars were discussing safe arrangements for Eidul Azha in the wake of coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Pakistan was the first country to keep mosques open with SOPs during Ramzan in consultation with the religious scholars and now the government would soon finalize its national strategic plan for Eidul Azha as well, he added.
