Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to introduce the Chief Minister Special Initiative for Cancer Patient Card across the province.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by CM Maryam Nawaz, where it was resolved to introduce a special card for cancer and cardiac surgery patients.
Government to Bear Full Treatment Cost
During the briefing, the meeting was informed that the government will bear the complete cost of treatment for cancer and heart patients enrolled under the initiative.
Treatment costs for patients with cancer and those requiring cardiac surgery will be fully covered by the government.
In the first phase, 45,000 patients will be able to utilize the CM Special Initiative Card for their treatment.
The Chief Minister Cardiac Surgery Program Card will specifically provide free surgery for heart patients.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also issued directives for mock drills to be conducted in educational institutions across the province.

The OPD block of the Nawaz Sharif Institute for Cancer Treatment will be operational by January 17.
The deadline to make the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology, Sargodha, fully functional is January 31.
