SKARDU: Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Syed Amjad Ali Zaidi has announced to quit the Tehreek-e-Insaf party in the wake of the May 9 mayhem.
According to the details, Syed Amjad Ali Zaidi, a respected political leader who was elected Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly by contesting elections on the PTI ticket, has resigned from his post.
However, Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid said that Amjad Zaidi resigned from his post as per the agreed party agreement. “We have nominated Deputy Speaker Ahmed Advocate for the post of Speaker,” he said.
It should be noted that the coalition government of PTI had already submitted a no-confidence motion against Amjad Zaidi. The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan said that he pays tribute to Amjad Zaidi for fulfilling his promise.

It should be noted that earlier Pakistan PTI Secretary General Asad Umar announced his resignation from the party post. While holding a press conference in Islamabad last week, Asad Umar said that he wants to go into the details of the events that happened on May 9.
He said that lives were lost, people were injured and property was also damaged. “But the dangerous thing was that military installations were attacked,” he added.
