Islamabad’s Tarnol Police Station and Homicide Unit conducted a major operation and arrested two suspects, including a son who shot and killed his father, as reported by national media on Wednesday.
According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, the arrested suspects have been identified as Suleman Khan alias Jabar Khan and Abdullah. The suspects had shot and killed the deceased, Hayat Khan, within the jurisdiction of Tarnol Police Station using a firearm.
The police team, after investigation based on modern scientific and technical grounds, arrested both suspects and also recovered the murder weapon (pistol). DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that a challan will be submitted to the court based on solid evidence against the suspects, and they will be given due punishment.
It is worth mentioning here that incidents of relatives being targeted and shot due to personal enmities have increased in Islamabad and other cities of the country.
Law enforcement agencies, including the police, believe that the cooperation of citizens is also essential for ensuring the implementation of law and preventing such incidents.
