RAWALPINDI: A Pakistani soldier was martyred at a military post in Bajur sector during firing from across the border in Afghanistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 24-year-old sepoy Sabir Shah embraced martyrdom due to the firing from across the border in Bajur sector on an army post along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border
“Pakistan has been consistently raising the issue for border management on other side to avoid use of Afghanistan soil against Pakistan,” the ISPR said.
On 20th Septemeber, two soldiers and as many civilians were martyred in different areas of volatile North Waziristan tribal district.
According to the military’s press wing, two security personnel lost their lives during an intelligence-based operation near Spelga village.
Unidentified assailants opened fire at Havaldar Tajbar Ali and Sepoy Abdur Rashid when they were on their way to a check-post.
Havaldar Tajbar, aged 38, belonged to Swat while Sepoy Rashid, 22, was a resident of Parachinar. Following the attack, security forces started a search operation in the area.
