KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to close educational institutions, marriage halls, ban on celebrations and restrict business for five days due to increasing cases of corona in the province.
A meeting of the Provincial Task Force on coronavirus was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani, Jam Ikram, Legal Adviser Murtaza Wahab, Health Parliamentary Secretary Qasim Soomro, IG Sindh Mushtaq Mehr S Home Qazi Shahid Pervez, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sindh Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi, Health Secretary Kazim Jatoi, Dr. Bari, Dr. Sara, Dr Qaiser Sajjad, Saeed Qureshi, Corps Five and representatives of Rangers and other organizations were present.
According to sources, as per the decision of the Sindh government, shopping malls and markets will remain open from 6 am to 6 pm from Monday, however, groceries, bakeries, and pharmacies will be allowed to open.
Wedding halls and other celebrations will be banned from Monday, shrines will also be closed, Fridays and Sundays will be safe days, restaurants will be closed from Monday, both indoor and outdoor, takeaways will be allowed.
It has also been decided to close educational institutions but the examinations will be held as per their schedule, 50 percent staff in public and private sectors will be present, all these decisions will be implemented from Monday.
