LAHORE: The Punjab government has imposed strict restrictions in various cities of the province in view of the increase in coronavirus cases, which are being implemented immediately.
According to details, the Punjab government has imposed smart lockdown in various cities till September 15 in view of the severity of the fourth wave of coronavirus, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Khanewal, Khushab, and Sargodha.
The cities where lockdown restrictions have been imposed include Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Gujranwala. Markets and malls will be closed until 8 a.m. during the lockdown. Businesses and shopping malls will be completely closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The Punjab government has issued a formal notification to implement the lockdown.

According to the notification, wedding halls in major cities of the province will remain closed, while indoor dining in restaurants and hotels has been banned and outdoor dining has been allowed till 10 pm.
There will be no restriction on working hours to facilitate takeaway. Indoor celebrations have been shut down in halls. A maximum of 300 people can participate in the outdoor. The Punjab government also ordered the closure of sports activities, shrines, cinema halls, and gyms. At least 70 percent of citizens will be able to travel by rail and public transport. Wearing a mask is mandatory.
