KARACHI: The novel COVID-19 has claimed nine more lives and infected at 487 people during the past 24 hours across Sindh province.
In his daily coronavirus update, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that nine more people died from the COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll from the disease to 2,259 in the province.
The chief minister further said that 12,420 samples were tested today, which detected 487 cases of COVID-19, making the total count of the infected people in the province 123,246.
Citing the detail of patients, CM Murad said currently, 6,022 patients are under treatment, adding that a total of 114,965 COVID-19 patients have recovered disease so far in the province. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 279,784 in the country, while the death toll stands at 6,052.
Another 21 people died of coronavirus in Pakistan, around, 727 new cases were reported. while 256,058 patients of coronavirus have recovered across the country.
The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is declining rapidly and according to the data released by the National Command and Operational Center, the number of active corona cases in the country is currently 20,886.
At least 15,000 coronavirus tests were performed in the last 24 hours. A total of 2,043,870 COVID-19 tests have been performed across the country. The number of corona patients in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 34,359.
There are 11,793 patients in Balochistan, 15,141 in Islamabad, 2,116 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 2,234 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 93,847 in Punjab.
The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,162 in Punjab, 2,245, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 167 in Islamabad, 136 in Balochistan, 55 in Azad Kashmir and 55 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
