KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that 49 more people have died due to the deadly COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the provincial death toll to 1,013.
Murad said on Friday that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the province has reached 65,000. So far, 1,691 people recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours taking the total tally to 32,725, he added.
The chief minister said that 673 patients are in critical condition while 113 are on ventilators. He mentioned that 13,642 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours, out of which 2,894 came back positive.
CM Shah said 1691 more people recuperated from the disease and sent to their respective homes while the number of people defeating the deadly virus has reached 23,725 in the province. Murad Ali Shah said that through telemedicine all the patients in home isolation were being treated properly.
“The Sindh government has engaged around 500 doctors all over Sindh to keep in touch with patients in home isolation and provide them treatment,” he said and added in case of emergency they were being shifted to hospitals.
The chief minister urged the citizens to follow SOPS and avoid going out of their home without any solid reason. The chief minister said that everything cannot be shut down in the province in order to sustain livelihoods but preventive measures can be adopted.
