KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday said that coronavirus cases have jumped to 18964 after the province reported 1017 cases during the last 24 hours.
In his daily COVID-19 update, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the province conducted 6164 coronavirus tests in which 1017 came out positive. He said so far, the provincial health authorities have tested 137540 people for COVID-19 out of which 18964 have tested positive.
The chief minister also informed that the 17 more COVID-19 patients lost their lives. Sindh’s death toll has reached 316. Shah further said 127 patients are in critical condition, while 32 are placed on the ventilator. 904 patients have also recovered from the COVID-19. In Sindh 5645 patients have recovered so far, CM said.
The chief minister said that out of 813 new cases 559 belonged to Karachi. They include 135 from South, 134 district East, 106 district Central, 72 district West, 58 district Malir and 58 in Korangi.
Meanwhile, 23 new cases were detected in Hyderabad, 16 Larkana, 14 Kambar-Shahdadkot, 11 Jamshoro, six each in Shikarpur and Sukkur, five Khairpur, four Jacobabad, three each in Mirpurkhas, and Sanghar, two each in Dadu, Ghotki, and Kashmore while one each in Badin, Naushahro Feroze and Tando Allahyar.
The chief minister urged the citizens to follow SOPS and avoid going out of their home without any solid reason.
