Karachi: IG Sindh Raffat Mukhtar on Wednesday said that efforts are being made to ensure a peaceful environment during the upcoming elections, and the police are fully prepared for election day.
According to details, IG Sindh Raffat Mukhtar stated that 5 personnel will be assigned to normal polling stations, while 6 police personnel will be deployed at sensitive polling stations. The aim is to maintain a peaceful environment during the entire election.
During the election campaign, 162 complaints were lodged, leading to 34 cases of clashes throughout the province involving firing, arrests, and legal actions.
An attack occurred on a candidate in Mirpur Khas, but they were not injured by gunfire. The candidate was traveling alone in Mirpur Khas when their vehicle was fired upon. Stringent action will be taken against those attempting to take the law into their own hands.
IG Sindh emphasized that personnel have been appointed at our sensitive polling stations, and the transmission process is ongoing. The police are fully prepared for election day.
He mentioned that 8 police personnel will be assigned to highly sensitive polling stations, and within 5 minutes, the police and rangers will respond to any unpleasant incidents.
