The Sindh government has issued strict guidelines for private schools in the province regarding fee collection. A circular released by the Sindh Education Department directs all private schools to refrain from charging advance or additional fees beyond the specified timeline.
Under the leadership of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Directorate of Inspection and Private Institutions introduced these guidelines to ensure financial relief for parents. The new rules stipulate that the academic year for 2025-26 will begin on April 1, 2025, with matriculation exams scheduled to start on March 15, 2025.
To ease the financial burden on families, schools are instructed to collect tuition fees for matriculation students only up to April 2025. Additionally, schools may collect fees for June and July 2025 from students advancing from pre-primary to Class IX and from Class IX to Class X in April and May 2025, respectively.
The circular also mandates that schools issue separate fee vouchers for each month, with vouchers for June valid until June 30, 2025, and those for July valid until July 31, 2025.
The guidelines stress that all principals and administrators of privately managed schools in Sindh must adhere to these rules to ensure transparency and provide financial relief to parents. Non-compliance will result in strict action. The directives are effective immediately and must be followed by all private schools in the province.
