KARACHI: The provincial authorities have decided to close petrol pumps in the urban areas of the province tightening the lockdown triggered by the coronavirus out break which so far has claimed three lives and infected about 500 people in the province.
According to a notification issued by Sindh government, the petrol pumps will remain open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and will remain closed after that.
The notification further stated that the petrol stations on the highways will remain open for 24 hours to facilitate the transportation of goods.
The Sindh government also instructed that nobody will allow traveling to any other province from Sindh. Pakistan has reported a steady increase in coronavirus cases since confirmation of the first case in Karachi on 26. February 2020.
Meanwhile, the federal and provincial governments have taken strict steps like lockdowns to restrain the spread of virus in the country.
Presently, all provinces are under complete or partial lockdown and law enforcers police, Rangers and the Pakistan Army have been deployed across the country for useful enforcement of the lockdown.
Sindh province has experienced the 7th day of the lockdown, the provincial authorities have further constricted the limitations on the movement of the citizens in Sindh.
Provincial law enforcers arresting several people on daily basis in Karachi and Sindh for violating the lockdown orders.
