KARACHI: Sindh government is allegedly involved in corruption during the distribution of rations among deserving people amid coronavirus lockdown.
According to details, the Sindh government deducted the salaries of district municipal employees and from the funds of Union committees for the distribution of rations.
However, the Sindh government claimed that the amount – provided to the Deputy Commissioners for distributing rations – was from its provincial funds.
Sindh Chief Minister also claimed that the ration distribution was transparent and the government has distributed the ration from the special funds.
Sources revealed that the provincial government deducted Rs 2 lakh per UC from all 51 union committees in the central district while the salaries of DMC employees were also deducted.
Sources claimed that more than 20 million rupees were obtained for the coronavirus fund by deducting the salaries of local employees and the monthly funds of the Union Committees in the central district.
In this regard, sources claimed that the central district administration benefited from the collected amount through which a large number of deserving families didn’t receive the rations till now.
