Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has set aside the provincial ombudsman’s decision against K-Electric Chief Executive Officer Moonis Alvi, ruling that the findings were not supported by the evidence on record.
In a written order issued on Thursday, the governor stated that the provincial ombudsman had failed to properly consider the available material and had overlooked key evidence while reaching the decision.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed by a former employee of K-Electric, who had accused Moonis Alvi of harassment and approached the provincial ombudsman for redress.
Following the complaint, the ombudsman had ordered Moonis Alvi’s removal from office and imposed a fine of Rs2.5 million.
The governor’s decision effectively nullifies that ruling, bringing temporary relief to the K-Electric chief, while the matter may still be subject to further legal proceedings.
