Achieving the wheat purchase target became a hard nut to crack for the Sindh government, as only 10,000 metric tons of wheat had been acquired by the provincial government against the target of 1 million.
According to details, the Sindh government only purchased 10,000 metric tons of wheat during the last 20 days.
It is necessary to mention here that the Sindh government also failed to achieve the wheat purchase target of 14,00,000 tons of wheat at the rate of Rs 4,000 per mound.
The Sindh government is not providing fodder in the new season, and the purchase price is fixed at Rs3500.
The Sindh province is likely to cultivate 40,00,000 lakh metric tons of wheat as most of the wheat cultivation is completed in the majority areas of Sindh.
The Sindh food department said that the province has to achieve the wheat purchase target of 10,00,000 metric tons.
The Sindh Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah, directed the purchase of a maximum of 2,00,000 metric tons of wheat during the current months.
