The Sindh government has launched a scholarship program aimed at supporting thousands of students from minority communities.
According to the provincial minority affairs department, students must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
They must have passed their exams in the previous year with at least 50% marks.
They must be permanent residents of Sindh and belong to a minority community.
Their parents’ monthly income must be Rs 35,000 or less.
Each successful applicant will receive a grant of Rs 25,000 to assist with their educational expenses.
Additionally, in a move to boost employment opportunities, the Sindh government recently launched a job portal that will feature job listings from both government and private sector organizations.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government recently launched Pakistan’s first-ever educational program for the children of convicted prisoners.
The initiative, executed by the Education Department in collaboration with the Sindh Prisons Department and Paigham-e-Pakistan, guarantees free education from primary school to university level for the children of more than 4,600 convicted inmates.
