ISLAMABAD: PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq, who met in a cordial atmosphere, could not agree on a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to details, Shehbaz Sharif and the JI chief met at Mian Aslam’s residence in Islamabad. Senator Sirajul Haq received a delegation of PML-N leaders including Khawaja Saad Rafique and Maryam Aurangzeb.

The political situation in the country was discussed during the meeting. Shehbaz Sharif requested Sirajul Haq to support the no-confidence motion. Later talking to the media, Shehbaz Sharif said that this is a problem of 220 million people.

During the talk, Shehbaz Sharif said that the life of a common man is indigestible and a no-confidence motion has been filed. “We will also talk to the people of PTI to support us. The opposition wants to serve the people,” he said.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said that we are gathered here to say goodbye to the government with the help of people’s votes. “We will remove the government in a constitutional way. Where are the claims made by Imran Khan today?” he claimed.

On the other hand, Haq said that the government has failed miserably. Shehbaz Sharif gave options for the no-confidence motion. The government taxed everything and people’s lives have been made difficult, he said.

Haq said that we will consult on the suggestions of the PML-N president. A decision will be made after that. “They want system change instead of individual,” he asserted.

Haq said that Shehbaz Sharif agreed with our suggestions to some extent. It is hoped that all political parties will work together for electoral reform. Changing faces is not the answer. Hope all political parties will consider this, he added.

He said that Allah’s system has not been implemented in the country, therefore national unity is also in deficit. “There should be a system of proportional representation in Pakistan. It is to be noted that the opposition parties have filed a no-confidence motion against the prime minister, he said.
