Three coaches of Shalimar Express fell from a bridge near Shadra on Friday morning. The train was en route to Karachi from Lahore.
Sources say that the up-and-down track was closed due to the accident, affecting the schedule of trains going from Lahore to Faisalabad.
On the other hand, railway officials say that a relief crane has been dispatched to Shahdara station, and no casualties were reported in the accident.
Shalimar Express is a passenger train operated daily by Pakistan Railways between Karachi and Lahore. The trip takes approximately 18 hours and 40 minutes to cover a distance of 1,286 kilometers.
