Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is all set to reprise his role in Don 3 as Don.

The renowned filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar has reportedly started working on the third installment of the SRK-starrer Don sequel.

Don with Shah Rukh was an official remake of the Amitabh Bachchan’s classic, which was eventually spinned into an independent franchise with Don 2. It has been a decade since Don 2, after years the third part has been announced.

According to the source, Farhan Akhtar has discussed the idea of Don 3 with his father, the original creator of Don (1978), Javed Akhtar too. “Like always, Don 3 is still in the early stages and the future of the project will definitely depend on what shape the screenplay finally takes, but yes, it’s confirmed that Farhan has started work on Don 3 script,” the sources said.

On the work front, SRK’s Jawan will be Khan’s third film for 2023, which he’ll kick off with a starring role in director Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan, a patriotic action-thriller that marks Khan’s return to acting after 2018’s Zero. The actor went on a sabbatical after Zero bombed, and said in several interviews that he is looking to creatively recalibrate. After Jawan, he’ll star in hitmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, about which very little is known, aside from the fact that it’s going to be a Christmas release.
