A court in Lahore on Saturday granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qurishi in the May 9 case.
The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had earlier reserved the verdict in the 9 May Shadman arson case.
The verdict was announced today by Judge Manzar Ali Gul at Kot Lakhpat Jail, where the case was heard.
Yesterday, Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s lawyers Rana Mudassar Umar and Barrister Taimur Malik gave detailed arguments in the ATC Lahore, after which the court reserved the verdict.
It should be noted that Shah Mehmood Qureshi had filed a bail application in this case several months ago. Former Punjab Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema’s bail was also granted a few days ago in the same case.
Despite approval of the bail, there is no chance of the immediate release of the incarcerated leader, as he is also booked in other cases.
