The US Singer Selena Gomez publicly expressed her concerns regarding the ‘brutal’ immigration policies implemented by President Donald Trump soon after he took office on January 20.
The star burst into tears as she talked about the policies’ impact, particularly on children and immigrant families. The former Disney idol also shared a video on Instagram, however later she removed it.
In the video, Selena Gomez appeared visibly shaken as she shared how sad she felt over the current immigration landscape in the US. “All my people are being targeted, especially the children. I can’t comprehend this. I will do everything I can, I promise”, she stated.
She also expressed her frustration and compassion for those impacted by the recent immigration enforcement actions. The video struck a chord with many of her followers, particularly in light of a significant operation conducted by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which resulted in the apprehension of 956 people – the highest number of arrests since Trump took over the White House.
