KARACHI: A petition has been filed in the Sindh High Court against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari over their disqualification from the National Assembly seats.
A petition was filed by lawyer Iqbal Kazmi in SHC in ehich he pleaded that both the leaders were ruling both the PPP and the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) parties, therefore they should be disqualified from their National Assembly seats.
The petition further said that the PPP was a separate entity with party symbol of a sword, on the other hand, the PPPP contested polls on the arrow symbol.
According to him, PPP despite not being registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), runs activities under its banner.
The petitioner ended the petion by declaring both no more honest and righteous, “The activities of both leaders under the ECP exclude them for being ‘Sadiq and Ameen’ paving a way for their disqualification.
In this regard, SHC had issued notices to the accused in the disqualification petion and ordered the ECP to submit their response over the matter.
