The second phase of renovation at the National Stadium in Karachi is scheduled to begin immediately following the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced plans for an extensive redevelopment initiative, which will include a full re-profiling of the stadium’s stands. The objective is to transform the venue into a modern facility that meets international standards, addressing both aesthetic and functional shortcomings.
This overhaul comes in response to the notably low spectator turnout during the HBL PSL 2025 matches held in Karachi. Many have attributed the poor attendance to outdated infrastructure and a subpar fan experience. In light of these concerns, the PCB and other stakeholders are taking swift action to revitalize the stadium.

Key elements of the renovation will include a complete redesign of seating arrangements, with a strong emphasis on comfort, space, and enhanced sight-lines. Architectural enhancements will aim to modernize the venue’s appearance while preserving its historical significance.
In addition, entry and exit points will be restructured to improve crowd movement, boost safety, and reduce bottlenecks. Parking facilities will also undergo significant upgrades, with new designated zones to ease long-standing accessibility challenges on match days.
