Two days ago, PTI leader Shehbaz Gill was arrested and yesterday the news head of a private TV channel was also detained due to hateful statements against the Pakistan Army and rebellion within the army ranks.
It is being said that this series of arrests will not stop here, so it feels like the season of arrests has come. In his recent statement, former Interior Minister and Awami League chief Sheikh Rasheed said that 4 vehicles were sent to Lal Haveli to arrest him.
On the other hand, the incumbent interior minister denied even the need for arrest and said that Sheikh Rasheed is a fired shel. Sheikh Rasheed was not present in the Tehreek-e-Insaaf meeting we have information about it.
However, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, in a statement given 2 days ago, also said that if Sheikh Rasheed’s role was revealed, action would be taken against him as well, as if the federal government denied the arrest but did not guarantee that Sheikh Rashid will not be arrested in future.
If we look at the political history of Pakistan, the generals of the Pakistan Army ruled the country for a long period of time, which has been the subject of constant rhetoric from the politicians, including the leaders of PTI, PML-N and PPP.
As long as Imran Khan, who is considered to be the favorite of the establishment, was the prime minister, no one could have expected that he could say anything against the army, but as soon as he lost the government, the PTI changed its position.
The situation today is that when a campaign is launched on social media against the martyrs of the Pakistan Army, the blame falls on PTI. In the past, such accusations were leveled at Pakistan Muslim League (N), but today it is Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s turn.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif issued statements in favor of the Pakistan Army these days. Be it Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb or Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, everyone seems to be singing the praises of the Pakistan Army and its martyrs, so the question is what has happened to PTI?
On several occasions, PTI leaders themselves have said that they are not against Pakistan Army or martyrs, but Tehreek-e-Insaf has also expressed indifference to the campaign being run on social media. If not PTI then who is behind it?
Finally, the government has started a series of arrests and roundups. First, PTI opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Shaikh was arrested, then Shahbaz Gill and then the news head of a private TV channel. The beginning of the season of arrests is indescribable, so think what will be the end of it?
