Educational institutions across Punjab will reopen in April, with schools resuming a regular five-day week schedule.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat clarified that there is no consideration for adopting hybrid models such as three- or four-day school weeks, reaffirming the government’s focus on maintaining a consistent academic routine.
He also shared that 246 matriculation examination centers are currently being monitored through CCTV cameras to ensure transparency and proper supervision during exams.
Speaking about future improvements, the minister noted that adjustments are being made to the academic calendar to give students appearing in next year’s examinations more time to prepare.
Earlier this month, the provincial government had directed the closure of all schools from March 10 to 31 as part of efforts to ease economic pressure, particularly due to rising petroleum prices linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
