The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday decided to keep the policy rate unchanged at 11.5%.
The committee met on Monday for the final policy review of FY26 and its fourth meeting of the calendar year.
It is worth mentioning that in the last meeting on April 27, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased the policy rate by 100 basis points to 11.5%, marking the first hike in nearly three years.

At that time, the central bank had pointed to rising global energy prices, higher freight and insurance costs, and supply chain disruptions following escalating tensions in the Middle East, which had heightened risks to the macroeconomic outlook.
However, these risks have since eased after the United States and Iran announced a deal to end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, providing relief to global markets.
