Saudi oil giant Aramco unveiled its first branded retail gas station in Pakistan on Tuesday, located in Lahore, following its acquisition of a 40% stake in the Pakistani petroleum company, Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. (GO), earlier this year.
Aramco, a leading global integrated energy and chemicals company, supplies roughly one in every eight barrels of the world’s oil. GO, one of Pakistan’s largest retail and storage companies, specializes in the procurement, storage, sale, and marketing of petroleum products and lubricants.
The new Aramco-branded stations in Pakistan will provide premium fuels, high-quality lubricants, expert automotive services, and modern convenience stores, ensuring a seamless customer experience, according to a statement from Corporate and Marketing Communications (CMC), which manages public relations for both Aramco and GO in Pakistan.
In February 2019, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed investment deals totaling $21 billion during a visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Islamabad.
These agreements included $10 billion for an Aramco oil refinery and $1 billion for a petrochemical complex at Gwadar Port in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Both nations have since strengthened efforts to enhance bilateral trade and investment, with Saudi Arabia recently reaffirming a $5 billion investment package for Pakistan.
