LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Member Saqib Chadhar has rejected allegations levelled by actress Aruba Mirza, who shared screenshots of old messages allegedly attributed to him, terming them as fabricated and sent from a fake account.
According to details, Aruba Mirza recently posted a series of screenshots on her Instagram account, claiming they were old messages allegedly sent by Saqib Chadhar. In her posts, she tagged actresses Momina Iqbal and Syeda Tooba Anwar and claimed that she too had faced a similar experience.
The posts came days after television actress Momina Iqbal filed a harassment, blackmail and threat case against the PML-N MPA with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Lahore, in which the NCCIA has submitted a report finding the MPA guilty.
After Aruba Mirza’s Instagram posts went viral, MPA Saqib Chadhar issued a clarification through his Instagram Story.
Rejecting the allegations, Chadhar said the screenshots shared by the actress were not from his account.
“These messages were sent from a fake account and I clarify that I personally use my official account,” he wrote in his story.
The MPA also rejected the impression of any kind of relationship between the two.
“You are not important to me and the enemy must also be family,” he further wrote in his clarification, dismissing any personal link with Aruba Mirza.
It should be noted that recently Aruba Mirza shared some screenshots on the photo and video sharing platform Instagram which she has called Saqib Chadhar’s alleged old messages. She tagged Momina Iqbal and Syeda Tooba Anwar in her stories and said that she also faced a similar experience.
It may be recalled here that the current development comes amid the ongoing high-profile case of actress Momina Iqbal, who has accused Chadhar and his wife Samira of a sustained campaign of cyber harassment, stalking, blackmail and criminal intimidation after she refused his marriage proposal. The Sessions Court Lahore has extended the interim bail of Chadhar and his wife till September 3.
MPA Chadhar has denied all allegations levelled by Momina Iqbal as well, calling them false and baseless, and has filed counter-applications alleging financial disputes and blackmail.
