ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari has inaugurated a passport office for overseas Pakistanis in Islamabad.
Speaking to media after the inauguration, the special assistant expressed the government’s determination to take further steps to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.
He said a mechanism is also being evolved to resolve the land disputes of overseas Pakistanis. He said the digitization of land records will be conducted in the federal capital to ensure greater transparency. He said the government is keen to provide better services to the overseas Pakistanis.
Overseas Pakistanis will now get their national identity cards and passports under one roof. The passport office has been set up at the OPF Head Office in collaboration with the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGIP).
The facility will help overseas Pakistanis to apply or renew their passports, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) membership cards and Foreign Exchange Remittance Cards.
