KARACHI (Nigah Muhammad): Sahibzada Sultan Ali has won the seventh edition of the Hub Rally and Tushna Patel was victorious among the women, happened in Hub District on Sunday.
The 20-kilometer track of the Max dirt arena witnessed exciting and tough competition between countries’ top Male and female drivers in Stock, Prepared and women categories. Sahibzada Sultan Mohammad Ali claimed the first spot in the Prepared category as well as got his hands on the award for the fastest time track of the day.
Ronnie Patel stood second while Asif Imam finished third in this category. Jeevan Hoth won the stock category A in which Shoaib Malik finished second and Imam Ali Shah third. Jeevan also claimed the award for the fastest time track of the day in the Stock category.
Tushna Patel ended up as the winner in the women category with a time of 17 minutes 49.99 seconds. Khadija Sharif was behind on the second slot while last year’s winner Salma Khan could not take part in the race as, a day earlier, her vehicle turned turtle during the course of practice.
As many as 50 men drivers and seven to eight women participated in the race. The participants were filled with passion and performed well, according to the organizers. The rally featured top drivers from across Pakistan, including Nadir Magsi, defending champions Asif Imran and Amir Magsi.
In a post-race interview, Sahibzada sultan said that Hub rally is the most exciting race for the drivers because of the dangerous turns and rocky tracks, adding that keeping pace with controlling pace is a big challenge for drivers.
