KARACHI: Assuring all opportunities under the recently-launched ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’ to the youth, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, Usman Dar said that Rs5 billion rupees had been disbursed in Sindh out of Rs10 billion the minimum disbursement target of the current financial year for the province.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a cheque distribution ceremony under Kamyab Jawan Programme in Korangi district of Karachi. Special Assistant Usman Dar and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail were the chief guests of the ceremony.
SAPM Usman Dar and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail distributed the cheques among the beneficiaries of Kamyab Jawan Programme. The PM’s aide said the first phase of the programme focused mainly on the youth of Karachi and the next one would include rest of the Sindh offering business loans.
“We have disbursed Rs3bn among young entrepreneurs of Karachi alone which resulted in establishment of 600 plus startups and creation of over 3,000 jobs for the people of the metropolis,” the Special Assistant added.
Usman Dar added that 7000 plus scholarships amounting under the project to Rs43 million had been awarded in Sindh. Dar said that youth development centres would be set up in 108 public sector universities to facilitate over two million university students to explore opportunities in the Information Technology sector.
Arisha Naz, who achieved success in the Skills Training programme, thanked the Kamyab Jawan Programme and Skills Valley Institute for the opportunity. Other beneficiaries also earned certificates in robotics and animation.
Talking to M.M News, the beneficiaries praised the Skills programme and said it was very creative and informative. “Our teachers helped us a lot,” they added.
MNA Alamgir Khan said that our youth are being given loans on the basis of their business ideas. “We pray that their businesses will flourish. Making the youth self-sufficient is Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision,” he added.
