In honor of longstanding friendship with Pakistan, eastern European country Romania plans to name a street in Constanța as “Karachi Avenue.”
This gesture celebrates the strong ties between the two coastal cities and marks 61 years of diplomatic relations between the countries.
The idea was proposed during a meeting between Romania’s Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu and Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi. Both officials emphasized their commitment to deepening cultural, educational, and economic cooperation.
In a reciprocal move, there is also consideration to name a street in Karachi “Constanța Avenue,” symbolizing the friendship, mutual respect, and shared maritime heritage of both cities.
