It seems like Robert Pattinson might return to the DC Universe sooner than expected as the actor has reportedly been spotted on the set of ‘The Penguin’ as The Batman spin-off finishes filming.
The Penguin serves as an odd case in the DC Universe, being a Max spin-off series for a film series that isn’t even canon to the main continuity.
Given the show is a spin-off of The Batman, and previous reports indicating his involvement, it wouldn’t be a massive shock to see Robert Pattinson appear as the Caped Crusader.
However, given The Penguin focuses mainly on businessman Oswald Cobblepot, it’s possible the actor only appears in his civilian identity as Bruce Wayne.
The Penguin series
The Penguin is set in the same universe as The Batman and sees Colin Farrell returning to the role of the villainous DC Comics character.
Cristin Milioti plays the show’s female lead, Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Gotham City mob boss Carmine Falcone. Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Rhenzy Feliz, Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, and David H. Holmes round out the cast in undisclosed roles.
Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’
The Batman opened in theaters in March 2022, earning 770.8 million at the worldwide box office, a figure that makes it the seventh highest-grossing movie of the year.
On the work front, Pattinson is set to star in Bong Joon-ho’s upcoming science-fiction film Mickey 17, based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7.
