A sudden surge in extortion incidents in Karachi has once again plunged the business community into deep insecurity as the Karachi Chamber of Commerce has sent a letter to its members, advising them to exercise caution and implement security measures.
The letter clearly says that some traders have been receiving extortion notes, often accompanied by bullets, posing a serious threat not only to the traders but also to the overall peace and security of the city.
According to the letter, these extortion notes demand large sums of money, causing widespread fear and anxiety within the business community.
Issued by the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce, the letter directs all traders to immediately install high-quality CCTV cameras at their business premises and residences, ensuring they have adequate backup storage.
