Major General retired Ejaz Awan has said video and audio tapes attributed to him are fake.
Ejaz Awan said that the audio and video tapes being attributed to him are fake and an attempt to defame him and his institution.
In his Twitter message, Maj Gen Ejaz Awan (retd) said the army is his “identity and first love”.
“Army is my identity… I am a son of a martyr and I can never spread disrespectful propaganda against my own institution,” he added.
He further said that the fake clip was developed in India and we should all thwart the propaganda together.

In the alleged leak audio, Ijaz Awan was criticising Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and his policies.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen Haroon Aslam said video and audio tapes attributed to him are fake.
Lt Gen Haroon Aslam tweeted that he had served the army 40 years. He said, “A Few unscrupulous people have tried to make me controversial through fake audio recordings.”

He said the voice was not his. The fake video could be the work of some foreign enemy, and if it is someone from Pakistan, it is reprehensible.

Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Mirza Aslam Beg, in an audio message, condemned the fake clip, saying: “Army is my identity and my pride and every soldier and officer of it is respectable for me.”

The former army chief said that enemies of Pakistan were conspiring against the army, urging others not to become a part of it. “Do not tarnish your character and actions. God does not like such things,” he concluded.
