RAWALPINDI: Senator Rehman Malik on Monday met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) and lauded Pakistan Army’s professionalism, efforts towards regional peace.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Rehman Malik and General Qamar Javed Bajwa have exchanged views on matters related to defense and internal security in the meeting.
They also discussed the security situation within the country, the situation in India-held Kashmir, the Pak-Afghan border and the internal security.
On this occasion, Rehman Malik said peace resorted to tribal areas due to the sacrifices of the Pakistan army and nation. Pakistan rendered matchless sacrifices to eliminate terrorism from the country, he added.
Malik recalled the army’s sacrifices and their contributions towards restoring stability in the country to dismiss the negative impressions.
He also assured the army chief of complete support of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior to the armed forces.
