A sequel titled Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is in development and scheduled for release on April 10, 2026.
The 2019 film ‘Ready or Not’ is a darkly comic horror-thriller that has been widely praised for its suspense, humor, and star performance by Samara Weaving.

The film centers on Grace, a young woman who has just married the man of her dreams, Alex Le Domas, heir to the fabulously wealthy Le Domas family fortune, which was built on a hugely successful board game empire.
Grace successfully survives until dawn. As the sun rises and the ritual deadline passes, the Le Domas family members, one by one, gruesomely combust (explode) due to the failure of the ritualistic sacrifice. Grace is left as the sole survivor, covered in blood and having rejected her husband, who ultimately sided with his family.
A sequel to the film, titled Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, is currently in development and is expected to be released in April 2026, with Samara Weaving reprising her role as Grace.
The sequel’s plot suggests that Grace’s survival in the first film was just the “first level” of a bigger, deadlier game involving other powerful, rival families.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Radio Silence), who directed the first film, are returning for the sequel.
Samara Weaving will reprise her starring role as Grace.
The cast will feature new additions, including Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, David Cronenberg, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, and Olivia Cheng.
The film picks up immediately after the first one ends, with Grace having survived the initial ordeal. She soon discovers that her survival has triggered a new, broader game.
Now, an international council of wealthy families must hunt her down to secure the “High Seat of the Council,” which controls the world.
Grace is forced to play the game when her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton), is also marked for death.
