The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken decisive action against nine illegal housing societies in the city, following the directives of Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.
The RDA, through its Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, served a notice to M/s Reliable Marketing for actively promoting these unauthorized housing projects via an advertising campaign.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the notice instructs the marketing company to cease the advertising campaign immediately for the nine housing schemes that lack proper approvals and legality. The Director General has explicitly directed relevant authorities to pursue legal action against the advertising campaigns associated with illegal housing societies.
The spokesperson emphasized that, according to RDA regulations, a housing project must obtain a No Objection Certificate to be considered approved or legal. The marketing company, in this case, has been accused of misleading citizens by promoting projects without the necessary approvals, creating a false impression of their legality.
The marketing company has been duly cautioned to halt all advertisements related to these illegal housing projects. The DG’s directives extend to advising citizens to verify the status of housing projects through RDA’s official website, to ensure accurate and approved information.
