Rawalpindi police arrest accused in kidnapping, rape case

RAWALPINDI: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a suspect, who wanted in the kidnap and rape case of an 18-year-old girl in Rawalpindi.

According to the police sources, suspect Rashid Ali and his accomplices were involved in the kidnap and rape of a teenage girl.

The FIR lodged after the kidnap of the victim on the mother’s complaint noted that prime suspect Rashid Ali along with his collaborators abducted her daughter and sexually abused her.

Police have noted the suspects have been detained and are behind the bars after the successful raid in the Raja Bazaar.

Earlier, Police have arrested a three-member gang involved in robberies and looting containers and trucks. According to details, Jatli police station recovered snatched goods, containers and other goods from the possession of the accused in various incidents estimated to worth Rs5, 515,000.

The arrested suspects have also confessed to several criminal incidents in Attock and Chakwal districts. A team by ASP Gujjar Khan and SHO Jatli led by Superintendent Saddar traced the accused with intelligence and modern interrogation methods.
