Rawalpindi has begun using drone cameras to enforce traffic regulations.
According to CTO Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam, modern technology is being deployed to take action against traffic violators. Initially, drone monitoring will be used in congested and high-traffic areas.
Farhan Aslam stated that traffic wardens will take immediate action based on drone footage. Underage driving, riding without helmets, and one-way violations will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He added that a strict and indiscriminate crackdown against violators is underway, and due to the zero-tolerance policy, traffic violations have visibly decreased.
He asserted that recent amendments to traffic laws aim to ensure citizens’ safety. Law-abiding and responsible citizens have nothing to fear, as the purpose of the traffic police is not to issue fines but to protect lives.
Practical measures continue to prevent accidents and ensure safe travel.
