Quetta Gladiators secured a commanding six-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars in the 26th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a modest target of 135, Quetta achieved the total with ease in 16.2 overs, finishing their chase without major pressure after restricting Lahore to a below-par score.
Lahore Qalandars, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, struggled to build momentum despite brief contributions from Haseebullah, who top-scored with 23 runs.
Usama Mir added 22, while Fakhar Zaman contributed 20 as Lahore posted a competitive but underwhelming total.
Quetta’s bowling attack set up the victory with a disciplined display.
Usman Tariq led the charge with an impressive spell, taking three wickets for just 18 runs, while Jahandad Khan also claimed three wickets to keep Lahore’s scoring in check.
Jahandad Khan also impressed, taking three wickets to further restrict the Qalandars’ scoring.
In response, Quetta’s batting unit comfortably chased the target, sealing victory with six wickets in hand.
The Qalandars have two wins from five matches and are searching for their first victory in the Karachi leg of the tournament, while the Gladiators have two in six matches.
Historically, the Qalandars have enjoyed a slight upper hand in head-to-head encounters, winning 11 of their 21 meetings against the Gladiators. Quetta have secured nine victories, while one match ended without a result.
