Qasim Khan Suri, the former deputy speaker of National Assembly, has said he is now working as an Uber driver in the United States after facing financial difficulties following his departure from Pakistan.
Speaking during a discussion with journalist Ali Hasnain Malik, Suri said he never imagined he would be forced into such circumstances but had chosen honest work over wrongdoing.
“Here, I am certainly facing financial hardships. I never thought I would have to do the kind of work I am doing now — I am driving Uber,” he said, adding that he preferred earning a living with dignity rather than resorting to theft.
Suri, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said he remains a political worker committed to the ideology of party founder Imran Khan, and continues to stand by that vision despite his current circumstances.
He linked his personal struggles to what he described as broader injustice in Pakistan, particularly referring to legal cases against Imran Khan and his family.
