Punjab has introduced a new E-Registration App to digitize civil records, enabling residents to conveniently register births, deaths, marriages, and divorces from home. The initiative aims to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across the province.
The Punjab Local Government Department, in collaboration with NADRA, has introduced a Customer Relationship Management application.
Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique formally inaugurated the E-Registration App. On the occasion, he stated that the app will allow citizens to register births, deaths, marriages, and divorces online.
Zeeshan Rafique added that residents will now be able to complete registrations from home, and since the system is linked with NADRA’s database, entries will be automatically updated there as well.
He further explained that an agreement had been finalized between the Local Government Department and NADRA for the E-Registration system.
Recording marriages, deaths, births, and divorces through this platform will help compile accurate data, and the system will be connected down to the union council level across Punjab.
