LAHORE: The Grand Health Alliance (GHA) has called off the strike after successful talks with Punjab Law Minister Raja Bashrat.
As per details, the doctors and paramedical staff in Faisalabad, Lahore, and Multan were observing strike against the implementation of the Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) Reforms Act.
However, on Tuesday, Raja Bashrat held successful negotiations with GHA representatives after the protestors announced called off the strike.
On this occasion, the protesters said they will announce their next plan if their demands were not addressed.
In several hospitals in Punjab province OPDs, Operation theatres and laboratories were closed all during the GHA strike. The doctors were staging a protest on Ferozpur Road which led to blockage on Jail Road, Queens Road, and Canal Road resulting in severe traffic jams in Lahore.
The doctors were protesting over the implementation of the MTI act which deals doctors to shift their private practice from private clinics to public hospitals in the province.
